We are hiring a Cloud Security Architect to support a financial services client in the UK. The role focuses on designing secure, compliant, and scalable cloud solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). This is a remote position aligned with EMEA working hours, requiring strong collaboration with architecture, security, and compliance teams in a regulated industry context.

Responsibilities

Design and implement secure cloud architectures tailored for financial services (FSI)
Define and enforce IAM policies, network security models, and data protection strategies
Ensure compliance with industry regulations (e.g., GDPR, ISO 27001, FCA guidelines)
Conduct risk assessments and advise on security posture improvements
Support security audits, threat modeling, and incident response planning
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align cloud architecture with security best practices
Present security solutions and recommendations to stakeholders and decision-makers

Requirements

5+ years of experience in cloud security or architecture roles
Strong knowledge of GCP, including IAM, VPC, DLP, and workload protection
Experience working in or with regulated industries, ideally financial services
Familiarity with compliance frameworks relevant to FSI (e.g., BAU, PCI DSS, ISO)
Proactive approach to threat modeling, security design, and governance
Strong communication and documentation skills in English
Ability to work independently in distributed, international teams
Professional Cloud Architect (PCA) or equivalent cloud security certification required
